Recommendation: Ergonomic mouse for long computer work

I've been working on my Apple MacBook Pro with an ergonomic mouse since May 2019. At first, this was unfamiliar, as holding and moving the input device felt completely different than in the years and decades before. In the meantime, however, all daily work, writing, editing pictures, researching on the net and much more are also connected to muscle memory here. In addition, the wrist and arm feel more relaxed. The so-called "mouse arm" can and should be prevented by an ergonomic posture and loosening exercises, but an ergonomic mouse or vertical mouse also helps.

Abbreviation: I have been using this model for almost 3 years

A vertical mouse can help to work ergonomically on the computer. The more natural position of the hand and arm can prevent "mouse arm" complaints. I recommend taking the time needed to get used to it, because once you get used to an ergonomic computer mouse, you can work on Mac and PC with it as usual.

Vertical mouse for ergonomic computer work

There is a lot of help for gentler work on Mac and PC. The correct structure of the workplace, a good chair, the right lighting and the like are all part of it. There are also special keyboards for a more natural posture of arms and hands. The input device for the mouse cursor can be purchased in a wide variety of ways - a conventional "horizontal" mouse, a trackpad, a trackball or even a vertical mouse. The CSL model linked above is also available in a very similar look from other manufacturers, like on this product page as a Bluetooth model from Anker. A version with thumb buttons from ECHTPower you can find here.

Ergonomic vertical left-handed mouse

In addition to the offers for right-handers shown above, there are of course also computer mice with a vertical orientation that can be operated with the left hand. Here, too, the CSL model is displayed as Amazon's Choice – with USB cable and as a wireless version. You can find other models with sometimes more and sometimes fewer buttons, adjustable DPI levels and other features in this search result list. Do you have your own recommendations or even more ergonomic solutions for operating the computer? Then please leave a comment on the topic. I look forward to your input on vertical mice, trackballs, trackpads or completely different input devices!
