Lock screen widgets that can be displayed over the clock

There are different positions for widgets to take on the iPhone lock screen. Small bits of information that do not require large symbols or animations can e.g. B. be displayed above the time. Not all options can be found at the same time, but you can select a few for the quick view. This is the corresponding app selection with the individual information that can be displayed:

  • Calendar: Day of the week, date in various forms and next calendar entry
  • Weather: temperature, weather conditions, air quality, moon events, sun events, UV index, wind, etc.
  • Uhr: Time in another time zone and next alarm
  • Memories: Entries to be done for the respective day
  • Fitness: activity data, such as B. Calories, workout time, standing time, etc.
  • shares: single stock with up or down symbol

Lock screen widgets that can be placed under the clock

Equipped with larger symbols and more information, various widgets can also be placed on several lines under the time. This includes some from the list above. That's good, because those who can't find space above the time can simply be packed underneath. But they are complemented by even more widget options. Here is the whole list from the current preliminary version of iOS 16:

  • Calendar: Date and next appointment
  • Weather: temperature, weather conditions, air quality, moon events, sun events, UV index, wind, etc.
  • Uhr: different display options for times in other cities/time zones and for the next alarm clock
  • Memories: Entries to be done for the respective day
  • Fitness: Display of activity rings and calorie, workout and standing data (all can be displayed simultaneously)
  • shares: Display one stock as a small widget or display three stocks in a larger widget
  • Batteries: Charging status of the iPhone and connected devices (e.g. AirPods) – currently, even if two widgets are used at the same time, only one device is informed, which will hopefully be corrected
  • Home: Information about lights, climate data, safety instructions, certain safety accessories or a summary can be selected
  • News: Top headline(s) of the day is displayed
