M3 MacBook Air installment purchase – Amazon with its own credit check

Amazon offers its own type of financing for the purchase of expensive products, including Apple technology. With this installment payment, the purchase price displayed on the product page is divided into five monthly installments and then paid off over the corresponding period. Other costs are not incurred. You can even take advantage of the Prime benefits of the respective product, such as fast shipping. For the new M3 MacBook Air, simply select the option on the corresponding Amazon product page to pay in installments (see below).

However, not all of you may see this option. In order for Amazon to provide the financing model described, you have to prove yourself trustworthy according to the company's specifications. If you are looking for interest-free installment purchase with a completely new account, after previous payment difficulties or only with the IBAN, you will probably not find what you are looking for. So take a look at the following checklist to assess your chances of getting financing.

Requirements for laptop financing at Amazon

In order for Amazon to offer interest-free installment payments for expensive products on a trust basis, several requirements must be met. These are summarized as follows:

  • For the local installment purchase you have to have an Amazon account for the German, Austrian or Swiss platform.
  • The Amazon account must have existed for at least a year - so long-term customers are more likely to be trusted here than people with a fresh account.
  • There must not have been any payment difficulties with the account so far - i.e. cases such as payment arrears, insolvency, etc.
  • A credit card that is valid for at least 20 days after the last installment is due must be specified as one of the stored means of payment.
  • A Prime membership is not necessary in order to be offered interest-free and credit bureau-free financing.

If you meet the listed requirements, then Amazon should have no concerns about your account and your ability to pay. If payment in installments is not offered as shown below, this may be because financing is generally not available. In this case, you should check again after a week or two.

The option is currently available on the new MacBook Air with M3 chip from 2024. To do this, go to the product page (13 inch model or 15 inch model) and expands the overview of the installment payment options in the “Purchase options and plus products” area. From this overview, you then select “Amazon Monthly Payment” to divide the purchase price into five equal monthly installments. You then continue shopping as usual.

Here you can expand the area with the payment and financing options.
