Cancel AltStore PAL subscription: Here's how!

The iPhone app called AltStore PAL is an alternative app marketplace for the EU market. Usage costs 1,50 euros + VAT per year, i.e. 1,79 euros in Germany. If you no longer want to pay this annual fee and therefore want to cancel your AltStore PAL subscription, you will find the appropriate instructions here. You can cancel the subscription directly on your iPhone, but it works the same way on a Mac or PC.

AltStore PAL – Where can I manage my subscription?

Since this is an offer that is managed outside of the Apple cosmos, you will not find this subscription in the App Store or your iPhone's settings. Unfortunately, you also look in vain for subscription management within the AltStore PAL app - a circumstance that definitely needs to be changed. However, you have the option to stop the annual payments via the offer's website: https://altstore.io/ 

Here you scroll to the download area and tap or click on the “€1.50/year + VAT” button, just like when booking the service. But don't worry, you won't incur any additional costs. On the booking page, enter the email address with which you took out the AltStore PAL subscription. You do not have to provide any further information. The system should recognize your email address and therefore load a new page.

On this new page, tap or click on the “Manage Subscription” button. This will take you to the download page, which you already know from the installation process of the alternative app marketplace. But you leave the “Download” button on the left and instead tap or click on the “Manage Subscription” link below. This will redirect you to Stripe, the billing service provider that AltStore uses to manage payments. You can find out what happens next in the next section.

On the website you access, enter the email address you used to subscribe. An access link will then be sent to you, which will be displayed as a “Register” button in the email. Click or tap this to (finally) go to the website where you can manage your subscription.

The page that is now loaded and displayed lists the annual costs, the selected payment method (credit card) and other data. You will also find the “Cancel plan” button there. If you want to download the invoice and payment receipt beforehand, you can do so at the bottom of the page. But you click or type Cancel plan on, let's continue with it.

The button takes you to a page where the most important things are summarized again. Above all, how long your AltStore PAL subscription will still be valid after you cancel it. Below you will find another “cancel plan” button, which will lead to the cancellation of the whole thing. Once you have pressed it, the request will be processed and you will return to the overview. There is now a field above your subscription that says “Cancelled”.
